Made sure it was OAT, 10 year / 150,000 mile Today I realized that our manuals state that the coolant should meet MS , but the bottle the dealer sold me was MS I called Jeep and they said that the 2 are compatible, is for Jeeps and is for all FCA vehicles The owners manual specifies coolant for the engine and intercooler as follows 'We recommend you use Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant 10 Year/150,000 Mile Formula OAT coolant confirming to MS' I can find Mopar, 10 Year/150,000 mile, OAT but cannot find anything meeting specification MS Any help on this would be much appreciated Thanks, Ron MS was an old designation for 10 Year / 150K mile OAT coolant that was not embittered For safety reasons, an embittering agent was added and a new designation was given, MS This agent does not affect the coolant in any way other than making it taste very bitter as opposed to the normal sweet taste If you absolutely insist on having the nonemittered coolant
Discussion Starter #8 12 mo ago georgef said Unfortunately MS coolant does not seem to exist (at least in the USA) If you go to a Jeep parts department they will sell you MS for your Jeep, it is also an OAT coolant There are those who say that MS is identical to DEXCool, but I haven't found conclusive proof of that But Im looking to top it up and have no idea what brand or type of coolant that will be compatible with our ms coolant I don't want to go to the dealer as it cost an arm and a leg for anything there Also I'm in Canada Save Share Reply justind Registered Joined 0 Posts #2 OAT coolant by Mopar only Mopar Replacement ABIf not, then you should use it and test it at your own risk before you recommend others to do
